End of May with two adults and two primary-school children, here to hike. More than enough room for a family, everything in excellent condition. The Nebelhorn cable car a few minutes on foot, a bakery and supermarkets close by.

Three layouts. One clear choice.
Three apartments under one roof, each with its own door and its own layout. The flagship Stillach with bay window and winter garden on the first floor. The 90 m² Catarina with east-facing balcony and Sun Room on the second. The solo Hannes apartment on the second floor. Ski room and parking are shared — everything else stays private.
Apartment Hannes
Travelling alone as a luxury, not a compromise. At the top of the house, the mountain views from several windows are yours alone.
+ Cleaning €41 one-time · plus visitor’s tax
Apartment Catarina
The first sun reaches the east-facing balcony long before the day begins. Ninety square metres, two bedrooms, a Sun Room — mountain views become routine, not a selling point.
+ Cleaning €100 one-time · plus visitor’s tax
Apartment Stillach
One hundred twenty square metres, bay window and winter garden, two bedrooms. For those who sit long into the evening and watch the light change.

The apartment was furnished with great taste. The east-facing balcony is especially lovely when the morning sun comes in. The south-facing one isn't really a balcony — more of a living-room extension to the south, with many windows.
An all-around perfect place for me: a few minutes on foot to train, bus, cable car, and the pedestrian zone. And whatever was missing, Ute brought right away. Even half a litre of milk on a Sunday evening.

Most guests don't need a car for the whole stay.
In the morning, down Nebelhornstraße to the valley station — five minutes, then you're above the valley. Midday up on the mountain, the afternoon at Freibergsee lake or through the Breitachklamm gorge. In the evening back into the village centre for dinner, and home on foot. The car stood still all day.

The house has three apartments under one roof, on Nebelhornstraße in Oberstdorf. Ute Lauter has been hosting here since 2017 and has held Superhost status continuously ever since.
In nine years, over 290 guests have reviewed the three apartments at Haus NH40 on Airbnb — averaging 4.9 out of 5 across all three profiles. Ute has been Superhost continuously, usually replying within an hour.
What that means in practice shows up in one of the reviews: a guest was short half a litre of milk on a Sunday evening — Ute brought it round. No grand promise, just the small gesture at the right moment. That is what sets her apart from 600 other addresses in Oberstdorf.
Contactless arrival: a key box at the front door, the code and all the essentials about the apartment arrive in advance. Check-in 2 pm to 8 pm, check-out by 10 am.
For questions, a recommendation for a cable car or a tavern, a problem with the heating — a message to Ute is enough.
